Karen Phillips welcomes you to Shingle Hall Stud which is situated just outside Epping, not far from the Hertfordshire/Essex border, and within hacking distance of Epping Forest.
Karen is a BHSAI and also qualified as an AI Technician in 2007. Having been around horses for the past 40 years she has gained a wealth of experience and knowledge in equine management and welfare.

Shingle Hall Stud primarily breeds good quality sports horses and ponies but can also accommodate a small number of liveries.
We have a full sized floodlit arena (40m x 20m) installed by Charles Britten together with a range of showjumps and fillers for use free of charge.
All our stables have rubber flooring, equipped with automatic waterers and are of a minimum size of 12' x 12'. We have several larger loose boxes together with two foaling boxes both equipped with cctv. We are now part of the Intelligent Worming programme, the costs of which are on the onus of the owners.
Not only do we have the luxury of Epping Forest on our doorstep, which boasts almost 6,000 acres with over 30 miles of gravel tracks and posted rides which are kept open permanently (unless requiring repair), we have our own private off road track of approximately two miles around farmland so that you can hack away from the roads in tranquility being ideal for youngsters on their first outings. When the crops are harvested you will also be able to ride across the stubble fields where you may even come across the odd cross country fence!
Horses and ponies are turned out individually or in pairs either in post and railed or electric fenced paddocks.
We offer a full livery service, seven days a week, where individual needs can be catered for and, for us, your peace of mind is our priority.
"Shingle Hall Stud is a professionally run stud, but with a very personal touch. Karen is warm, inviting and knowledgeable, giving me a complete peace of mind whilst my precious mare was staying with her. Karen remained available for help and advice throughout Saffron's pregnancy, in fact Karen was the first person I texted to say the foal was on the way! Karen made the whole experience of a first time breeder a much more pleasant one."
